Soultour - PROJECT X

 

 

 

We want to promote here in Senegal a job of training and preparation in which young men and women are regarded as mainly a resource for education among peers and for the dissemination of a culture of solidarity between groups, associations and the different realities art in the world.
The intent of the project PROJECT X organizing workshops Arts (Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theater) in Senegal, is to convey how art can be an instrument to bring ancient and diverse cultures, through the creation of a new dialogue.
The effectiveness of artistic activities such as visual arts, crafts, theater, and music, in drawing up social reality traumatized by poverty and its corollaries, it is a valuable psychological support aimed at finding a renewed awareness of self and others.
Artistic activities may help in fact to compare the lifestyles and can offer a specific focus on improving the process of enabling a reality that does not passively tracings the model of Western culture, but that preserves the true value of the cultural background and ability production outside the ordinary tourist's box  .
The meeting point with the African culture in general and Senegal in particular, is a great opportunity to find and put in place the necessary resources to update each other's lifestyles through a creative process that integrated working techniques.

* Creation of organic gardens in favor of the communities and the children `talibe.
* Interactive workshops meeting between artists from various backgrounds and craftsmen.
Training children, youth and adults in various fields of artistic expression: painting sculpture drawing classes, dance classes, sabar and djembe `rhythmic and musical ensembles.
* Setting up a small recording studio / digital lab and library.
* Preparation of the "Creative Space" as a venue for exhibitions and other events devoted to the issues of collective interest.
* Research and training of volunteers to be included in the work programs to expand the activities and to create a synergistic network with other associations in the area.
* Organization and visibility of Senegalese tourist's guides spokesperson and cultural mediators, specialized for the reception and the exploration of land and in creating cultural and sporting events.

 

 

PROJECT X think of a space that can serve as a meeting point for different cultures that animate our world. We think, at the same time, that this meeting should have the tendency towards an aesthetic ideal of beauty and that we should combine with a handy profit and solidarity.
PROJECT X comes from a need to offer to the people who will liven up visiting, in a dimension to practice an helpful gesture, not an utilitarian end in itself but anchored in sharing and awareness. PROJECT X will participate in this meaning. A double soul: the materiality of an object that you create or purchase through the workshops, because it is beautiful, is combined with the immateriality of helpful and supportive gesture that will allow PROJECT X to pursue their social objectives.
Every start of the year will be explicit the goals of the social projects that PROJECT X arises and who wants to achieve through the personal enjoyment of those who decide to do, of this laboratory, a place in which to buy but can also manufacture items, spending time, enjoy beauty and creativity.
